Just Play Dead is a US R crime thriller that pits a wealthy couple against each other in murder and insurance schemes on a tropical island. Sexual assault, strong language, drug use and violent confrontations earn the rating. Gun threats, shootings and betrayal keep a deadly cat-and-mouse tension running through the story. Best suited to mature teens and adults who can handle adult crime themes.
Uplifting themes
The film plays as a convoluted crime comedy with little moral uplift. Parents should not expect strong prosocial takeaways The leads are scheming spouses and lovers tangled in betrayal. They are unlikely role models for younger viewers
