Toy Story 5 is Pixar's first G-rated entry in the franchise. It pairs gentle slapstick with potty jokes, online bullying and a lonely eight-year-old pulled toward a tablet while toys fear obsolescence. Generally fine for school-age kids. Very young or sensitive viewers may need help with exclusion and screen-time stress.
Uplifting themes
The story promotes friendship, empathy, teamwork and balancing play with technology. USA Today and Disney press materials frame the ending as hopeful for Bonnie Jessie, Woody and Buzz model loyalty and perseverance. Lilypad begins antagonistic, but the ensemble ultimately supports Bonnie's wellbeing Timely conversations about screen time, online groups and making in-person friends offer real discussion value for families
Story (may spoil tone)
When Bonnie receives a Lilypad tablet as a gift and becomes obsessed, Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs become exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.
