Our take

Masters of the Universe is a big-budget M action fantasy reboot. Prince Adam returns to Eternia to become He-Man and fight Jared Leto's Skeletor with allies Teela and Man-At-Arms. Expect sci-fi sword fights, destroyed-homeworld stakes and some suggestive material per the rating. Fine for tweens who handle Marvel-level action; younger kids may find Skeletor and the battle scenes intense.

Uplifting themes

Teamwork and accepting responsibility to protect others come through. Those themes sit alongside the fantasy battles Adam, Teela and Man-At-Arms rally together to defend Eternia in the fight against Skeletor No educational value found in this title

Story (may spoil tone)

After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
