Our take

Teen magician Max spends Halloween night facing a supernatural killer. The script is thick with frequent p-word and s-word language, kill-me questions, kidnapping talk, drunk gangsters, and curiosity about guts. Jump scares and teen banter share the horror-comedy tone. Older teens and adults who already watch R-lite horror are who this fits.

Uplifting themes

When the Halloween threat tightens, friends scramble to stay together and think fast. Loyalty flickers in those beats. Spectacle still owns most of the runtime Max tries to protect people and outthink the threat; freezing is not his default. Imperfect teen bravery, inside a killer-on-the-loose plot. A polished hero arc is not on offer

Story (may spoil tone)

When teen magician Max crosses paths with the sinister Jester on Halloween night, she must outsmart a supernatural killer whose magic is all too real and whose tricks always end up in blood.

Max versus a supernatural killer means stabbing cues, kill threats, and attacks that keep arriving on Halloween night. Chase-and-kill set pieces keep getting pushed. One brief scare does not cover the load

Drunk gangster dialogue appears in a single scene. That is the alcohol parents will clock. No drinking plot stretches through the rest of the movie

Halloween night brings stalking, talk of kidnapping, and a supernatural killer that holds dread high. The ride runs on jump-scare horror energy. Calling it a mild spooky backdrop would undersell it

Max is a teen magician, a human minor, and Halloween night puts him on screen hunted, threatened, and talking about kidnapping. That pressure carries a lot of the climax

Subtitles flag blood splatters and an intestines-and-blood beat during kills. Injury detail goes far past a distant red smear. Horror-fantasy framing still lets the gore show
