Our take

The Wild Robot is a family animation about a shipwrecked robot who learns to live among island animals and care for an orphaned gosling. Younger kids may find predator chases, storms, and a parent animal dying upsetting. Best for children who can handle some tension in a warm story

Uplifting themes

Empathy, found family, and learning to belong are the heart of the story Roz keeps trying to protect the gosling and the island even when others fear her Kids get a gentle look at animal habitats, migration, and working together to survive

Story (may spoil tone)

After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.
