Our take
Hellboy: The Crooked Man strands Hellboy in 1950s Appalachia among witches and a local devil. You get demons, bloody folk magic, some nudity, drinking, and regular f-word language. Folk horror more than quippy superhero. Older teens and adults
Story (may spoil tone)
Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent get stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia. There, they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy's past: the Crooked Man.

Talk after watching
- A small town hides a devil. What does fear do to neighbours?
- Folk magic uses animal guts and blood. Too much for anyone at home?
