Our take

Colourful rescues, silly villains, and pups with brand-new superpowers deliver classic PAW Patrol energy on a bigger canvas. A few chase and threat scenes run louder than the TV shorts and could startle the youngest preschoolers. There's no swearing, romance, or gore anywhere in it. It works well for kids who already love the show and can take a few punchier action beats.

Uplifting themes

Being the smallest doesn't stop Skye from mattering, and the team only ever wins by working together. Confidence, courage, and caring for your city stay front and centre throughout. It gives little kids an easy values chat once the credits roll. Even with their powers stolen, Ryder and the pups keep choosing rescue over payback. Skye grows into her strength while keeping her friends right alongside her. They're clear, kind models for preschool and early-primary kids. Gentle lessons come through about teamwork, trying again, and using your strengths to help others instead of showing off. At heart it's still a toy-adjacent adventure. Take it as a soft prompt for chatting at home, not a stand-in for a classroom film Even with their powers stolen, Ryder and the pups keep choosing rescue over payback. Around Adventure City, the pups and villains trade power blasts, chases, and thrown objects. Nobody is hurt in any realistic way, and blood never shows up. The scuffles simply run louder than the calmest TV episodes

A meteor strike, stolen powers, and villains on the rampage bring short bursts of peril. Very young fans of the quieter shorts might want a cuddle through the bigger set-pieces. Each threat still wraps up in classic rescue fashion

Talk after watching

  • Skye feels too small for the big jobs at first. When have you felt that way, and who helped?
  • The pups only win when they work together. What is one job at home that works better as a team?
