View all categoriesOur take
Scream VI is a bloody slasher for older horror viewers. A masked killer attacks people in a shop, on a subway, and in dark stairwells, with visible stab wounds and repeated deaths. Strong language is frequent, and the film also touches on trauma, therapy, drinking, and a date-rape reference. We put it at MA 15+ and up for viewers who can handle graphic violence and sustained fear.
Uplifting themes
Under the scares, the survivors lean on each other as a found family and refuse to be split apart. Loyalty and sticking together are the throughline The sisters at the center protect each other fiercely and keep showing up for their friends. They are flawed and frightened, but brave when it counts
Story (may spoil tone)
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.
