Our take
A veteran infiltrates an armed cult led by Jamie Foxx. Unrated in the U.S., it plays like a hard R action piece with guns, standoffs and very frequent strong language. PTSD and missing-family themes add a grim tone without much nuance. Suits mid-teens about 15 and up who can take hard action and constant swearing.
Story (may spoil tone)
An ex-special forces operative seeks revenge against a cult leader who has corrupted his former comrades, the Shinjas. This leader, known as The Bokushi, promises veterans a purpose and protection, but is revealed to be a destructive influence. The ex-soldier, Nash Cavanaugh, joins forces with military operative Emmanuel Ashburn to infiltrate the Bokushi's fortress and expose his reign of terror.

- Veterans are recruited into a controlling group. How do real-world cults exploit trust?
- The hero uses violence to save others. When does revenge blur with justice?
