Our take

Kara is a Tamil crime drama about a reformed thief pulled back into robbery when banks trap his father in debt. Gun standoffs, homemade bombs, stabbings and shooting threats sit alongside mild profanity, smoking references and heavy grief over a father's death. Heist planning and arson keep the pressure up across a long runtime. Suits mature teens who can handle crime-thriller violence.

Uplifting themes
