View all categoriesOur take
This third outing mixes slapstick computer comedy with a darker stretch where Superman becomes selfish, mean, and destructive under synthetic kryptonite. Fistfights, a junkyard brawl against his own bad side, and a threatening supercomputer bring real peril even when the tone is silly. Characters drink vodka on screen and joke about Superman looking drunk. Mild swearing and a small-town romance with kisses show up. We put this at 10, with a parent, for the personality-shift violence and the drinking gags.
Uplifting themes
Choosing the better self over the selfish one is the clear moral of the middle act. Friendship and ordinary hometown kindness help pull Superman back. The message is simple but warm Once clear-headed again, Superman owns the damage and protects people from the machine he helped enable. Lana and Gus show uneven courage under pressure. Heroes here are messy before they are admirable
Story (may spoil tone)
Aiming to defeat the Man of Steel, wealthy executive Ross Webster hires bumbling but brilliant Gus Gorman to develop synthetic kryptonite, which yields some unexpected psychological effects. Between rekindling romance with his high school sweetheart and saving himself, Superman must contend with a powerful supercomputer.

Evil Superman wrecks vehicles, pick fights, and later battles his better self in a brutal junkyard scrap. A weather machine and a killer computer put people in real danger. The comedy softens some hits, but the fights still land

Hell and damn show up often in the banter, with one b-word phrase near the end. It stays mild-to-moderate overall. Nothing like a barrage of strong swearing

A vodka gag runs through a computer scene, and a crowd later jeers that Superman looks drunk. Characters talk about drinking more than they glamorise it. Kids will still clock the jokes

Superman's corrupted, sneering side can unsettle kids who know him as purely kind. The final computer threat has flashing lights and trapped people. Most of the film stays comic, so the scare is patchy

A gun threat and talk of killing Superman appear without lingering wounds. The junkyard fight is rough but not bloody. Weapons matter more as plot talk than graphic detail

Fake kryptonite twists Superman into a cruel, reckless version of himself for a long stretch. Friends and strangers notice the change and feel unsafe. It plays as a sci-fi corruption more than a clinical portrait

Clark's return home notes that his mum has passed, a quiet line that colours the small-town visit. The film does not dwell on mourning. Sensitive kids may still feel the ache in that beat
