Why our age differs

Official is MA 15+. We say 17+ because graphic stylised violence and relentless swearing ask for older teens or adults

Our take

Michael Bay's action film barely slows down between car chases, shootouts and explosions. The blood and injuries are graphic, including a prolonged shot of a damaged eye. Strong language is frequent, and there are brief sex scenes too. We put it at 17+ because the violence, sexual content and language all land hard.

Uplifting themes

The crew bonds around stopping a brutal regime and protecting the vulnerable. Friendship under pressure is the soft centre of a loud film Heroes fight a clear villain, yet they also celebrate lawbreaking and lethal force with little pause. Mentors are cool, not careful

Story (may spoil tone)

After faking his death, a tech billionaire recruits a team of international operatives for a bold and bloody mission to take down a brutal dictator.

Long chase sequences pile on crashes, shootings, and hand-to-hand kills. The team treats combat like a sport, and bodies take clear hits across Florence streets and later set pieces

Strong swearing is nearly constant in the vans and fights, mostly the f-word with plenty of s-word too. Characters bark insults while driving, bleeding, and arguing tactics

Drinking comes up as part of the ghost-life fantasy and in throwaway lines. Alcohol is background colour beside the guns and cars

High-speed crashes, sudden gunfire, and a kidnapping beat keep the tension loud for long stretches. The mood is thrill-ride dread more than horror, but younger teens may feel overloaded

Shootings, crashes and other action scenes leave many people dead or bloodied. Blood spurts and pours from wounds, and a damaged eyeball is shown for an extended beat. The injury detail is hard to miss

Characters trade stories about their own staged funerals and who showed up. Loss is mostly a dark joke about leaving old lives behind, not a mourning arc

Talk after watching

  • The team gives up ordinary lives to fight a dictator. What personal cost feels worth it for a cause, and what does not?
  • One argues that breaking rules can serve justice. When do ends justify means, and when do they just create more harm?
