Our take

A single father schools his young son in sovereign-citizen beliefs that reject government authority in this MA 15+ drama. Cop killings arrive early, then gun talk, a tense standoff, repeated f-word outbursts, and a child pulled into dangerous ideology. Killing and assault get discussed in ideological terms. Families looking for clear heroes may find it unsettling. Mature teens and adults ready for heavy civic and parental-responsibility themes are the fit. ClearAge puts it around MA 15+.

Uplifting themes

Extremist beliefs trapping a family and harming a child is the caution the story presses. That warning sits in plain view Joe pushes back on his father even as Jerry's choices put the son he claims to protect in danger. The contrast is hard to miss

Story (may spoil tone)

Struggling single father Jerry indoctrinates his son Joe into the sovereign citizen movement, teaching him that laws are mere illusions and freedom is something you take. But, as Jerry’s ideology consumes them, they are set on a collision course with a police chief who has spent his life upholding the rules that Jerry has spent his tearing down.
