View all categoriesOur take
The Angry Birds Movie 2 is a noisy cartoon sequel about old enemies joining forces when ice birds threaten both islands. Slapstick crashes, explosions, and cartoon weapons fill the set pieces, with one mild crap and a wedding kiss. Younger kids who scare easily may find the ice fortress and big blasts a lot. We land at 8 and up because the action runs frequent even when the jokes stay silly
Uplifting themes
Old enemies learn that teamwork beats nursing a grudge when a bigger threat arrives. Friendship and found-family jokes sit under the slapstick Red grows into sharing credit, and several birds and pigs risk themselves for the group. The villains chase power without much care for anyone else
Story (may spoil tone)
Red, Chuck, Bomb and the rest of their feathered friends are surprised when a green pig suggests that they put aside their differences and unite to fight a common threat. Aggressive birds from an island covered in ice are planning to use an elaborate weapon to destroy the fowl and swine.
